sucks. Rented it last night. Not good. Almost bad enough to be good in the other direction, but way too long for it. Viggo Mortensen must have thought it was a freakin' summer camp after actually having to make an effort for lord of the rings. "What? Only three takes? Cool!" and "Wow! That was the fight scene? I didn't even have to practice for that, and no-one actually hit me!"

Yuck. Bad. Ptui!

And loooong. Pointlessly. Stupidly. Brain damaging.

This has been a public service warning. Save your money. And your time.

I thought the movie was supposed to be about the horse, not so much the human character.

It even patronized the horse.

And let's not get into...

nope, not gonna start. It IS a pretty horse, though, all the ones in the movie are.

Blech.

Do what the girls do. Stare at the horse flesh and, when appropriate, whine to yourself because your legs are 6" too long to actually /ride/ any of the pretties. :P

Or sit there and look at the unusally colored ones and debate what combination of genes got that color. Equine color genetics is /neat/, especially if you read the book by the same name. Brindle, however, is the fugliest modifier for a horse -ever-.

actually, the amusing part about it is that the entire story isn't true. what-his-name (see thats bad, i'm a horse lover and havne't seen the movie) character made up the entire thing. he was known for being a tall tale teller, and well, this is just another one of his.
seriously... go research it...
in my book, that makes disney a looser for marketing something as being 'true' when it isn't.
ahh, well, i'll have to watch it just to say that i did. i have a feeling that some of the scenes would have been cool to see on the big screen, even if the rest of the movie sucked. i just can't justify spending near 30.00 for two damn people to go to the movies...

How Sad

I was rather looking forward to finally seeing it, but I won't waste my time or money now.

Thanks for the heads up.
